What is 360 Lipo?

Comprehensive 360 liposuction tailored for international patients visiting Antalya.

360 Liposuction, also known as 360 Lipo is a surgical body contouring procedure that uses Liposuction to remove excess fat from the circumference of the torso – the abdomen, flanks and back, a common area of concern for many people. The term ‘360’ is derived from ‘360 degrees’ and is used to describe the way the areas of the body involved make a circle around the body.

360 Lipo removes stubborn pockets of fat from the torso, increasing comfort, mobility and hygiene and achieves a more defined and contoured with a flatter abdomen, back and flanks. The surgeon will make small incisions in the areas that are being treated to insert a cannula. Depending on the type of Liposuction being used, the fat will be broken down using physical movement, pressurised water, or laser before being extracted from the body. The incisions are then sealed with stitches.

360 Lipo can be carried out as a standalone procedure (for example, undertaking 360 Lipo without Tummy Tuck) or in combination with other procedures such as Fat Transfer. Many patients opt to combine a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) with Lipo 360 to enhance the overall results. It is carried out under general anaesthetic and takes 1-2 hours to complete.

What is the Difference Between 360 Lipo and Other Liposuction Treatments?

360 Lipo is different to other Liposuction treatments as it is a specific set of areas being treated for an enhanced result in one area of the body – the torso.

Liposuction can be performed all over the body, however areas are usually isolated such as Liposuction to the Legs or Arms. The areas of the torso involved in Lipo360 can be treated independently, however by treating them together as one procedure, the final result is enhanced.

360 Lipo can be carried out using a number of different Liposuction techniques including:

Traditional Liposuction

In procedures involving traditional Liposuction, the surgeon will move the cannula to break up the fat, before it is extracted. Due to the physical work, this method is most suited to procedures that don’t require a large amount of fat to be removed from the body.

Power Assisted Liposuction

Also known as PAL, Power Assisted Liposuction is similar to Traditional Liposuction, but the cannula vibrates rapidly to break down the fat, meaning less effort needs to be exerted by the surgeon. This makes it suitable for procedures where larger amounts of fat are being extracted.

Waterjet Liposuction

Instead of movement, Waterjet Liposuction uses pressurised water to break down the fat to be removed. The water can also be infused with painkillers and local anaesthetic to reduce pain, swelling and bruising, and also medications that help to break the fat down faster – again making the surgery faster and easier for the surgeon.

Laser Liposuction

Also known as Smart Lipo, Laser Liposuction uses Laser to break down the fat. The laser also encourages collagen production, improving skin quality as well as enhancing body contours. Smart Lipo is most suitable for small, precise areas of Liposuction.

Vaser Liposuction

Vaser Liposuction uses Ultrasound energy to break down the fat. This is well suited to areas with high density fat deposits. Some surgeons feel that Vaser causes less trauma to the tissue than other Liposuction techniques, but when carried out by an expert surgeon, all Liposuction techniques are safe and effective.

What Are the Benefits of Lipo360 Surgery?

Following 360 Liposuction, patients see and feel a number of benefits:

  • Enhanced physical comfort - Stubborn fat remaining following pregnancy or weight loss can cause chafing and discomfort. 360 Liposuction removes this stubborn fat to reduce these physical symptoms

  • Improved mobility and posture - Persistent fat which has been resistant to diet and exercise can limit the field of movement, and may cause issues such as back or muscle pain due to poor posture. Undergoing 360 Liposuction can address these concerns by rebalancing the fat distribution around the torso

  • Enhanced hygiene - In cases where excess fat around the torso has impacted a patient's ability to maintain good hygiene, 360 Liposuction improves the tone of the body, making hard-to-reach areas easier to effectively cleanse and dry, resulting in improved health

  • Increased confidence – Excess fat around the mid-portion of the body can cause a drop in confidence for many people. By having Liposuction 360 and being able to wear clothes they feel confident in or take part in activities they didn’t feel able to before, their confidence and quality of life increases

  • Improved body proportions – Having stubborn pockets of fat around the abdomen, flanks and back can create an unbalanced appearance to the body. 360 Lipo will improve the proportions of the body creating a more balanced appearance

  • A smooth and contoured appearance – 360 Liposuction will smooth out any unwanted lumps and bumps around the flanks, abdomen and back, such as love handles. This results in a flattering, contoured mid-section of the body

Why Do People Have 360 Liposuction?

360 Liposuction is designed to address a range of functional or medical concerns and can also deliver several aesthetic improvements:

Medical reasons:

  • To address stubborn pockets of fat around the midsection after weight loss or pregnancy, which may cause discomfort, chafing and skin irritation

  • To treat hormonal and metabolic changes, such as Lipoedema and Lymphoedema, which can make fat accumulation painful and poorly distributed

  • To strategically remove areas of stubborn fat, improving mobility and posture and addressing back and muscle pain

Aesthetic reasons:

  • To sculpt and contour the abdomen, waist, hips and back for a more defined and toned appearance

  • To improve confidence for patients who limit the clothes they wear and the activities they participate in due to self-consciousness about excess torso fat

  • To restore the body's balanced proportions and silouhette

Who is Suitable for 360 Lipo Surgery?

During your consultation, your surgeon will make sure you are suitable for 360 Liposuction. They will examine the areas you would like to be treated and will discuss your concerns and the results you are hoping for.

They will also discuss your medical history, including any medical conditions you have had and your mental health. Your surgeon will need to know that you are at a stable weight, which is close to your ideal weight. 360 Lipo is not a weight loss surgery, and is focused on improving comfort and wellbeing by contouring the abdomen, flanks and back, rather than reducing your weight dramatically.

Your surgeon may ask you to undergo some tests to make sure you are fit and well for a general anaesthetic procedure.

How Long is 360 Lipo Recovery Time?

Generally, 360 Liposuction recovery is relatively easy and fairly short. You should be fully healed and back to all of your usual activities after 6 weeks.

You will have to wear a surgical garment throughout your recovery period. This protects your incisions and reduces swelling. Your surgeon will ask you to avoid all exercise and strenuous activity for at least 4 weeks to prevent complications.

It is also important that you keep your dressings and incisions clean and dry to prevent infection. Following your surgeon’s aftercare and recovery instructions is crucial to achieving the best result from your surgery.

What Are the Risks of 360 Lipo?

Every surgical procedure has associated risks and complications. It is important to understand these and how they could affect your surgery. Your surgeon will explain these complications during your consultation and will assess your personal risk. They will let you know if there are any steps you need to take to mitigate your chances of developing a problem either during or after your surgery.

Complications associated with 360 Liposuction include:

  • Excessive bleeding

  • Loss of sensation in the surgical area

  • Seroma (a build-up of liquid in the surgical area)

  • Haematoma (a build-up of blood under the skin in the surgical area)

  • An uneven or asymmetric appearance

  • Infection

  • Blood clots

In the case of an unforeseen complication arising, you may require a revision procedure. Complications can occur for reasons out of your surgeon’s control, and needing a secondary procedure is not an indication of your surgeon’s skill or qualifications.

The 360 liposuction transformed my confidence completely; the care from start to finish was exceptional.

Can you sleep on your side after Lipo 360?

Your surgeon will ask you to sleep in a position that places as little pressure on your surgical areas as possible. Following 360 Liposuction this can be difficult, but you can use pillows under your upper back to lift the surgical area and keep yourself comfortable.

Can you gain weight after Lipo 360?

As Liposuction removes the fat cells from the body, you cannot gain excessive fat in the treated areas following 360 Lipo. However, 360 Liposuction cannot remove all of the fat cells for functional and health reasons, so the remaining fat cells can still stretch, leading to some fat gain in the treated areas, and your body may gain weight in other areas.

Can you have 360 Lipo as a day case procedure?

All procedures carried out at the Altan Tekin Clinic are day case, so you will be able to go home the same day to recover. This is thanks to all of our general anaesthetic surgeries being undertaken with Total Intravenous Anaesthetic (TIVA) which results in fewer instances of post-operative sickness and a faster initial recovery time.
